National Pizza Day

So, I learned today is National Pizza Day! Learn something new everyday!

If you like white pizza, this is a yummy sauce! And, I’m already contemplating how else we can use this garlic sauce. Plus, my husband isn’t a white pizza fan but he said: “that’s not too bad. I like the crust. And the sauce would be tasty on…” So his wheels even started turning on how we might be able to use this sauce recipe in different ways too! 🙂

I split it up using two different recipes and kept it plain for this first attempt (just the crust, sauce and cheese).

NOTE: Sarah has great tips so be sure to read over her page before diving into the garlic pizza sauce.

Changes I made:

  • I used 3 garlic cloves instead of 4.
  • I listened to her advice in regards to using less flour, so it wouldn’t be as thick. I used 1 heaping tablespoon vs 2 tablespoons.
  • I didn’t have half-n-half but I did have heavy cream from a different recipe so I used about 3/4 C heavy cream + 1/4 cup 2% Milk.
  • I did not put the grated parmesan cheese in my sauce.
  • ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS on ways to possibly use the sauce: over bread with crab and/or shrimp…use it as an alfredo sauce like she mentions, maybe a dipping sauce for breadsticks…
  • Possible pizza toppings: I can see onion, tomato, shrimp, chicken, steak, bacon, peppers, mushrooms…
