A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words

Knowing God is painting the world with vibrant colors and having a free day, we decided to take a road trip. We picked Rider Park in Warrensville, PA. We grabbed Subway shortly before arriving so we could have a picnic lunch. While eating and looking over the map, we saw the name at the top: Blessing Mountain Trails. How cool is that – our random escape had us sitting on Blessing Mountain!

When getting home and scanning through the pictures taken, I stopped on this one. My heart smiled and melted all at the same time. I sat, taking it in with so many heartfelt thoughts that just warmed my soul deeply. Our daughter Mya looks at peace, so content…just being: in her moment and whatever might have been going through her mind (and/or maybe nothing but stillness in the moment). We went from laying down together for a family picture with the leaves around our head to her laying there and she said: “Mommy look. It’s like it’s snowing leaves!” I turned to look and there she was, taking in the Heaven-Spun Creation. At peace – heart happy – soaking in a simple pleasure! Slowing life down looks different for all of us. This is one of our ways of ‘repairing a small part of our own world‘…to refresh – restore – renew (*wording used in our church service: Living Word Community Church). In these moments, the world is no longer ugly. It is as perfect as it was initially created to be.

Today church sang a song that I love and it made me think of this image. The song is called: Look to the Son (lyrics by Hillsong Worship). “Beyond the skies above, Love reaching out for us…” – – This Momma couldn’t help but see: her arms reaching out while her soul was receiving a special gift from being in the moment. God’s movement within her to: stop, be still, receive and enjoy!

May we have eyes to see and hearts that listen to lessons that surround us in so many ways! xoxo
